Keeping our home fresh and clean does not necessarily mean that we have to use some commercially available products which most of the time contains harmful chemicals that can affects our health and our environment.
Your home should be the safest place to stay for you and your family. Away from any harm which includes indoor pollutions emitted by commercial available cleaning agents that we always use in everyday cleaning. We can keep our house clean and fresh without using these harmful chemicals and instead choosing non-toxic environmentally friendly cleaning products.
Go Green
When shopping for safe cleaning products, always read the label, You will be find that toxic chemicals are incorporated in many cleaning products, these products can cause harm to your family. Chlorine bleach and formaldehyde are just two of the many harmful ingredients that these commercially available products contain. These chemicals can cause cancer and respiratory problems.
There are cleaning agents that can also clean, disinfect and deodorize without the harmful toxic chemicals that commercially available products have.
Here are some products that you can use that are safer options to use…
> Baking Soda, is a gentle abrasive which cleans and deodorize sinks, toilets, and bathtubs it can eliminates mildew and fungi buildup, It can also be use as fabric conditioner.
> Olive oil and mineral oil are good in polishing wooden furniture
> Borax is great in deodorizing a room and for removing mildew.
> Vinegar is great in disinfecting and deodorizing even carpets.
> Olive oil and mineral oil are excellent to polish wooden furniture
> Lemon is good as air fresher and in removing stain.
For Heavy Duty Household Cleaning.
There are some areas in our house that is can be more challenging to clean, like the Clogged sinks, the oven and toilets. Commercially available cleaning products for these areas contain strong chemicals that are even more harmful than other cleaning products. But there are safe, eco friendly and all natural cleaning agents that can help us to solve this problem.
> Oven – A thick paste solution of water and baking soda, coated and left overnight inside the oven can do the trick.
> Clogged Sink – A solution of half cup baking soda and one cup of white vinegar pour inside the clogged sink can help. The bubbling action will loosen some of the clog then follow it up by plunger or plumber snake to remove the clog.
> Toilets – A mixture of 1/4 cup of baking soda and 1 cup of vinegar pour inside the toilet bowl. Leave for an hour, then scrub it clean using toilet brush.
Eco Friendly Air Fresheners
There really are no safe commercially available air fresheners. They can cause respiratory problems, so really should be avoided. We can prevent these problems by opening windows and allowing fresh air to flow inside our home. Replace air conditioner and heater filters regularly. If you like to have a slight scent in your home, use potpourri made from natural fresh herbs, dried flowers, scented wood and citrus.
By avoiding toxic chemicals and using green cleaning agents and air fresheners, we can ensure our family health and the life of our mother Earth.
